For the past thirty years, Don Nesmith has practiced landscape architecture in the Washington DC area. After graduating from the University of Georgia in 1970 with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Don worked as a landscape architect for Vvjr inc, Harry Weese & Assoc. and Greenhorne & O'Mara. Don was responsible for projects involving public parks, historic restoration, and private gardens including McLean Central Park, and Sully Plantation Restoration.

In 1985 Don left to start his own practice and for the next fourteen years was partner in two Maryland firms, Outdoor Designs and Greenscapes inc. Since 1999 Mr. Nesmith has been principal of Land & Water Design, in Gainesville, Virginia. The firm focuses on landscape architectural design for private residential properties. His firm's portfolio includes many award-winning projects.

Mike joined Land & Water Design in 2003 bringing with him over 20 years of architecture and building experience. As the former head of his own design/build company, Mike possesses extensive knowledge of architecture and construction methodology. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from University of Kentucky, College of Design. By combining his knowledge of construction with his design expertise, Michael has developed a distinctive style. His creative flair and natural ability to meet each client's needs are reflected in the aesthetics and functionality of his work.

Vivian started her career working in a wholesale greenhouse business in Pennsylvania. In 2001 after 18 years in the computer field she came to Land & Water Design bringing with her a proficiency in technology. Vivian is an integral part of the team and contributes her management, marketing and finance expertise. Vivian received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from George Mason University.
